Renowned Star Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

Stateside performer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per news outlets.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a message.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Television Career

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was involved with a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.

Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, three children, and his family.
