I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
