Football Expert Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match victorious run came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, however can the English top division frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.
In the twelfth round, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.
The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest coach.
Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I will choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.
My son told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it in reality proves to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.
Fulham have got lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.
But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
